Poroshenko ordered to cancel the passage of military equipment through Kyiv
President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko said that he ordered that the passage of military equipment along Khreshchatyk not be included in the scenario of the parade held today in Kyiv on the occasion of “Independence Day of Ukraine”.
According to him, old Soviet howitzers, infantry fighting vehicles and air defense systems do not specifically travel along the Maidan, as was the case in 2014 during the mass death of Ukrainian military personnel in the Ilovaisk cauldron.

“Look at this Maidan. Not to the podium, but to the parade ground. Here, before you, are the real elite of Ukrainian society, our defenders and guarantors of independence. Let me repeat what I said yesterday here on Maidan when opening the exhibition of weapons and military equipment. By the way, this was specially designed so that it would not flash and move, but would stand. So that it can be carefully examined in all its glory and in all its strength,” Poroshenko said.
