Poroshenko called Zelensky and admitted the defeat
Outgoing Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko admitted defeat and congratulated his opponent Vladimir Zelensky over the phone on his victory in the second round of elections.
Zelensky announced this while speaking to journalists at his headquarters, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

According to Zelensky, Poroshenko promised to help him on all issues.
“I just congratulated you. I am very grateful to the President of Ukraine Petro Alekseevich Poroshenko, he just congratulated me on my victory, and I am grateful to him. He said that I could count on his support at any time. He recognized my and my team’s victory. Thank you again,” Zelensky said.
Meanwhile, on Poroshenko's "Pryamoy" television channel, Viktor Ukolov, a political strategist working for the still-incumbent president, explained Zelensky's victory by using NLP, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“In addition to the east and south, he was also supported by the center and the west - he won in all regions, including there. In the center and east, he relied on those dissatisfied with the authorities. In my opinion, as a political strategist, the NLP method - neurolinguistic programming - was used. It is based on the fact that voters were first convinced that everything was generally bad, destabilized emotionally, this aroused feelings of resentment, then they personalized everything with the current president and then sketched out a programmed conclusion - vote for Zelensky and you will be fine. This means that Ukraine has elected a weak president, even though he supposedly has enormous support. Because there are a lot of expectations for him, and the more expectations, the more expectations that he will not fulfill them. And a powerful opposition - every fourth Ukrainian supported Petro Poroshenko,” Ukolov said.
