Poroshenko, speaking in the Rada, said that opponents of the return of Donbass motivate this by the fact that the population of Donetsk and Lugansk will not vote for pro-Western parties.
“They are something else, they will vote differently, they will choose the wrong people and not us, they will pull us to the east, and we will be drawn to the west.” Of course, no one says this out loud, but the slyness can be read between the lines. For me, this philosophy is unacceptable,” Poroshenko said.
“Fantasies about peace in exchange for territory are absolutely illusory. With this approach there will be neither peace nor territories. All that remains is shame and an ever-smoldering conflict. For me, the main thing was, is and will be the struggle for the restoration of the territorial integrity of Ukraine within the borders of 1991. I emphasize that it was proclaimed in the same year, in a real referendum, including by the overwhelming majority of residents of Donbass and Crimeans,” the speaker assured.
