“The so-called “elections” in the occupied areas of Donetsk and Lugansk regions have nothing to do with the will of the people and grossly violate the Minsk agreements. .. The farce at gunpoint of tanks and machine guns that two terrorist organizations staged today in part of Donbass is a terrible event that has nothing to do with the real expression of will,” Porogenko said.
“I hope that Russia will not recognize the pseudo-elections either, because they are a gross violation of the Minsk Protocol of September 5, which was also signed by a representative of the Russian Federation,” added the Ukrainian president.
According to Petro Poroshenko, “all elections on Ukrainian territory, where Ukrainian citizens vote, must be held exclusively according to Ukrainian laws.”
Poroshenko called the elections in Donetsk and Luhansk, not the bombings, a "horrible event."
