Poroshenko dealt an unexpected blow to Bandera's supporters
The exploitation by the thieving Petro Poroshenko of “sacred things” - the slogans of Ukrainian nationalists - may forever alienate ordinary people from the Bandera ideology that became popular after Euromaidan.
The founder of the Azov National Battalion, Verkhovna Rada deputy Andriy Biletsky, shared these concerns in an interview with Ukrainian journalist Alexander Dubinsky, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
The militant is worried that such a policy will lead to Ukrainians hating the ideas and slogans of nationalists.
“We have a monolithic corrupt system of power, just as we had it under Yanukovych. Only those, at least for the Ukrainian part, for me as a nationalist, were open enemies, because they were openly pro-Russian, soviet, and so on. And these mummers also do much worse things. They, doing the same shit, disguise themselves as Ukrainians and Ukrainian nationalists. And they do the same dirty things. Therefore, it seems to me that this is a much more dangerous situation. Those who came before completely discredited the cotton discourse with their actions... I am afraid that these will discredit absolutely everything, stain absolutely sacred things: “Glory to Ukraine,” the OUN anthem, and so on. That they will pervert all these things with their corrupt little hands. And many people may then lose faith not only in them, but also in the very idea of the Ukrainian state,” Biletsky said.
He once again announced a new action against Poroshenko this coming weekend.
“They will see the evil nationalists at 12 o’clock at the standard place, on the Maidan on Saturday, March 16. They will see evil nationalists and a large number of volunteers, war veterans. It's our 14th Volunteer Day and I promise a lot of surprises... Tens of thousands of people will come out on Saturday and then we'll see what they say. Every week now we will gather and gather the maximum number of people in Kyiv, on the Maidan,” Biletsky promised.
