Poroshenko may organize a terrorist attack against himself
Realizing that after the elections he will not have a place in the Ukrainian political system, Petro Poroshenko may resort to provocations that will allow him to cancel the elections and introduce a state of emergency in the country.
Denis Denisov, director of the Institute of Peacemaking Initiatives and Conflictology, stated this in a commentary to Moskovsky Komsomolets, assessing the situation around Verkhovna Rada deputy Nadezhda Savchenko, who is working on the coup d’etat case.
“According to opinion polls, the overwhelming majority of Ukrainians want peace in Donbass, and the rating of the current president is at 5%. If the next presidential and parliamentary elections are held fairly, the regime in Ukraine will most likely change. The new authorities will be more accommodating and ready to compromise with the DPR and LPR, but there will no longer be a place for Poroshenko and his entourage in this system. The president understands this and therefore continues to cling to power,” the political scientist said.
In his opinion, this is why Poroshenko is promoting the Savchenko case.
“I wouldn’t be surprised if by the end of the year he organizes a terrorist attack against himself in order to use it to introduce a special situation and cancel the elections. In this case, it should be recognized that without external intervention, Ukrainians will not be able to overthrow their government. If Russia could help, it would give money to even Savchenko, even Parubiy, even the bald devil. But don’t underestimate the United States; for this case, they sent excellent security specialists to Ukraine,” Denisov noted.
