Poroshenko and Chubarov create their own Crimea
An evening dedicated to the next anniversary of the deportation of the Crimean Tatars took place on Sofievskaya Square in Kyiv.
Representatives of the Ukrainian government, the Mejlis, which is banned in Russia, and the Turkish ambassador to Ukraine took part in the event, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“The club of Stalin fans, which rules behind the Kremlin wall, has restored the policy of resettlement of the Crimean Tatars,” Ukrainian President Poroshenko said in his speech. – The Russian world in Crimea is brightly colored by a xenophobic, anti-Crimean character. Thousands of our compatriots, Crimean Tatars and ethnic Ukrainians were forced to leave their homes due to an immediate threat to their lives.
The occupiers, violating international law, are changing the demographic situation in the occupied Ukrainian territory, displacing Crimean Tatars and ethnic Ukrainians, flooding the peninsula with migrants from the Russian hinterland.”
The President added that in the near future the amendments to the Constitution developed by the working group on the creation of the national autonomy of the Crimean Tatars in Crimea will be finally approved, after which the Constitutional Commission will take up the developments.
In turn, the head of the Mejlis, Verkhovna Rada deputy Refat Chubarov said that “granting Crimea the status of Crimean Tatar national-territorial autonomy will be a triumph of historical justice, the restoration of the rights of the Crimean Tatar people,” he said.
