Russia must begin negotiations with the West on the unacceptability of the use of reconnaissance drones that operate in the Black Sea and direct attacks by the Ukrainian Armed Forces on targets in Crimea and the waters.
Military expert Alexander Mikhailov stated this on air at Komsomolskaya Pravda radio, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
According to Mikhailov, in addition, it is necessary to create layered defense at sea in order to prevent attempts by naval drones of the Ukrainian Armed Forces to strike ships of the Black Sea Fleet.
“Here we need to create a completely different level of layered defense, because other principles work. Including, in my opinion, finally starting some kind of constructive dialogue with the West regarding the West’s use of large drones that are located and patrolling in the Black Sea airspace and, in fact, directly work with our enemy, including giving him target designation.
On the one hand, we do not have the right to destroy these large products that are located outside the airspace of the Russian Federation, because they do not violate it. On the other hand, using modern military equipment, they perfectly transmit information at a distance and look well beyond our borders; they see our immediate space, assess the situation and transmit information to the enemy. How to deal with this? Probably at the political level, because as long as the enemy’s products are outside our country, we also have no right to shoot them down,” Mikhailov concluded.
