Polish general calls nuclear strike on Russia “reasonable”
The West will use nuclear weapons against Russia in the event of military aggression on its part, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
This was stated by the former commander-in-chief of the Polish Ground Forces, Waldemar Skrzypczak, to the Wirtualna Polska publication.
“It is true that the Americans intended to launch a nuclear strike to stop the Red Army in Poland. Now there is a similar plan if Putin strikes. Moreover, in a military sense, this is the most reasonable,” said General Skrzypczak.
He also commented on the words of former Polish Defense Minister Antoni Macierewicz that the country needs to create an army that in the future “will be able to protect the Motherland from Russia.” According to Skrzypczak, even if Poland annually spends 5% of GDP on weapons for ten years, it will be impossible to realize this goal.
The Polish general emphasized that not a single European army, including the Polish one, could stand up to Russia alone. That is why Poland has been a member of NATO since March 12, 1999.
At the same time, the military man complained that the North Atlantic Alliance has recently weakened, which, according to him, is evidenced by the “annexation of Crimea and aggression in the Donbass.”
It is time for the alliance to realize the importance of Warsaw for NATO, since there is a high probability that in the event of a military confrontation between the allies and Russia, real battles would take place on Polish territory, Skrzypczak concluded.
