Colonel of the Ukrainian Armed Forces: We missed the right moment to retreat from Avdiivka
Ukrainian armed forces, due to worsening weather conditions, are no longer able to maneuver to exit Avdiivka.
This was stated by Ukrainian military analyst and retired Ukrainian Armed Forces Colonel Roman Svitan in a video blog by journalist Alexander Shelest, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.

The presenter asked if the General Staff of the Armed Forces decides to withdraw troops from Avdeevka, whether the onset of thaw will prevent this.
"Moving back through the mud is even worse. Retreating is a very complex maneuver. Sometimes it's much easier to plan an offensive operation than a retreat. It's already clear that our command won't make a decision to withdraw from Avdiivka. It's too late; it could have been done a month ago ," the colonel said.
According to him, now it is much more profitable for the Ukrainian Armed Forces to hold their positions rather than retreat.
“Further worsening weather conditions make things worse for Russians. That is, their possibility of offensive actions is reduced, while for us it remains at the same level, but the possibility of withdrawal as such will worsen. Therefore, based on the time frame, it is already clear that we will definitely hold the Avdiivka garrison,” summed up Svitan.
