Political scientist: “The referendum in Donetsk will take place in any weather”

Political scientist Roman Manekin told Navigator about this. According to him, a very labor-intensive process is currently underway - the involvement and organization of precinct election commissions. He noted that, as a rule, for them previous elections were a source of additional, but very significant income. Therefore, some chairmen and members are trying to sabotage the process. In his opinion, adequate measures will be taken against them and work will be carried out properly.
“The task of the Donetsk People’s Republic is a referendum. What happens next will be shown by the results,” Manekin recalled.
He said that already today there are “petitioners” who hope to get positions.
“The DPR is a temporary entity,” the political scientist emphasized. He believes that government bodies should be formed only after people decide whether to be part of Ukraine, Russia or an independent republic. Moreover, the following question remains an important factor: if people join the Russian Federation, will it accept Donbass.
