If Russia had annexed the Donbass, it would not have needed to carry out pension reform.

State Duma deputy Natalia Poklonskaya stated this in an interview with the YouTube channel "First Project," reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

“They say that one day the state will not be able to fulfill its obligations to people and pay pensions, because we are experiencing the consequences of the demographic hole of the 90s. Today, millions of people in Donbass, in the South-East of Ukraine, are sitting and waiting for them to become full-fledged citizens of Russia again, as they once were. We are all people of one country, one people. And there wouldn’t be a demographic crisis,” Poklonskaya said.

She compared her decision not to vote for the pension reform with another one made in 2014 - to resign from the Prosecutor General's Office of Ukraine and return to Crimea.
