By signing the Association, Ukraine became a modern European country, - Eliseev
Kyiv, June 28 (Navigator, Evgeny Andreev) – Having signed an Association Agreement with the EU, Ukraine finally got rid of the status of a post-Soviet state, becoming a country of European identity.
The representative of Ukraine to the EU, Konstantin Eliseev, stated this on the air of the Kyiv Channel 5.

“Today we have finally gotten rid of the status of a post-Soviet state, and, in fact, from today we are a modern European country with a European identity,” the diplomat noted.
The Russian Federation, in his opinion, should come to terms with the signing of the Association and not try to seek a revision of the agreement:
“First of all, I would like to outline and convey a message to our Russian colleagues that the agreement will not have negative consequences for Ukrainian-Russian trade relations, and the Ukrainian side is ready for dialogue with the Russian side, in order to show that the signing of the Association on the contrary, it will benefit the Russian Federation. That is why an agreement was reached to begin trilateral consultations in the Ukraine-European Commission-Russian Federation format, in order to dispel all the myths around our agreement, its demonization, which has been launched recently in the Russian press. We are constructive, but, of course, we are not talking about revising the agreement or its text, but only about explaining the mechanisms that are provided and contribute to the development of Ukrainian-Russian trade,” Konstantin Eliseev emphasized.
By signing the Association, Ukraine has become a modern European country, says Eliseev.
