IDPs cannot afford to live in modular houses from Germany
Nikopol, January 16 (PolitNavigator, Alexandra Ignatieva) – A scandal is breaking out in Nikopol around modular houses for displaced people provided by Germany: people do not have enough money to pay sky-high tariffs for housing and communal services.

Many displaced persons from the east are refusing to move into modular housing built for refugees in five cities in the Dnipropetrovsk region, reports Vesti . The reason is simple: in Nikopol, for example, utility workers are asking 845 UAH 18 kopecks per person for utilities.
In turn, the Nikopol mayor’s office claims that the incredible tariff was formed due to heating, which will be produced using electricity. According to officials, in the summer the tariff will be significantly lower, but utility companies have not yet calculated it.
“No one has ever seen the calculations carried out by the Nikopol utility workers. Yes, indeed, the cost of electric heating is three times more expensive than steam heating. But we are interested in looking at this calculation, because in Dnipro they calculated that the tariff would be about 400 UAH per month. We don’t understand why they included the cost of security in the tariff. We are now sorting out the preparation of this calculation,” said Chairman of the Dnepropetrovsk Regional Council Evgeniy Udod, commenting on the current situation.
