Pashinyan: “Law and order? No, we haven’t heard..."
The street-barricaded Prime Minister of Armenia Pashinyan continues to escalate instability in the republic, using the methods of the Maidanocracy to achieve his own political goals.
On Tuesday, October 2, the majority of deputies of the National Assembly (Parliament) of Armenia adopted amendments to the law “On the Rules of Procedure of the National Assembly” in the second and final reading.
The new version of the law gives parliament the right to work even after the resignation of the prime minister. Thus, Pashinyan’s far-reaching plans to hold early parliamentary elections bypassing the National Assembly are collapsing.
As has been repeatedly reported, the parliamentary majority in Armenia consists mainly of members of the Republican Party, in which opponents of the new regime are concentrated.
Not only Armenian “republicans” voted for the introduction of amendments, but also Armenian nationalists from “Dashnaktsutyun”, and even deputies of the Gagik Tsarukyan bloc, which was previously considered an ally and sponsor of Pashinyan.
During the second reading, deputies from Pashinyan’s Yelk party tried to disrupt the hearings, trying to shout down the speakers.
Pashinyan himself has repeatedly made attempts to influence deputies of the National Assembly, convincing them to refuse to introduce amendments, in fact demanding that they commit political suicide for the sake of living well. With a predictably negative result.
As soon as it became known that the deputies had adopted amendments to the law on the rules of the National Assembly, Pashinyan immediately spoke in the pocket media, calling the new law “counter-revolutionary” and calling on his supporters to urgently go out to a street march to block the deputies in the parliament building. What the maydauns did with pleasure: thousands of horses and loudmouths, who were on duty at the walls of the National Assembly all night, came out to the square in front of the National Assembly.
The mood of my mother’s “revolutionaries” is decisive; cries of approval are heard from everywhere towards “their own prime minister” and abuse towards “the deputies - traitors to the people.” Now all the hope of Pashinyan and his street “subscription” is that, finding themselves in a blockade and without food, parliamentarians will come to their senses and re-vote “as it should.”
In order to make his actions more convincing, Pashinyan organized a purge of the government and governors from members of Tsarukyan’s Dashnaktsutyun and Prosperous Armenia parties.
Since Pashinyan himself does not have the right to dismiss ministers and governors, Armenian President Sargsyan (Maydown, British citizen) was involved in the “velvet” coup d’etat.
By presidential decree, the following were relieved of their positions: Minister of Transport, Communications and Information Technologies Ashot Hakobyan, Minister of Sports and Youth Affairs Levon Vahradyan, Head of the Ministry of Emergency Situations Hrachya Rostomyan, Minister of Energy Infrastructures and Natural Resources Artur Grigoryan, Minister of Economic Development and Investment Artsvik Minasyan and Minister of Agriculture Arthur Khachatryan.
With the populist posturing characteristic of Maidan leaders, Pashinyan put his signature on the decree on the dismissal of ministers in front of the crowd.
Nuance! Shortly before the start of parliamentary hearings on amendments to the law on the National Assembly, Pashinyan promised to resign immediately after the decree on the removal of ministers from the “Dashnaks” (economics and agriculture) and Tsarukyan’s people came into force. With one caveat: Pashinyan remains acting prime minister, since he intends to hold early parliamentary elections in December.
To speed up Pashinyan’s resignation, the Dashnaks proposed recalling their people from the government. But the Maidan Prime Minister outwitted his former allies, dismissing them in disgrace, accusing them of “supporting the counter-revolution.”
To summarize all of the above in a nutshell, Pashinyan deliberately aggravated the situation, causing a new socio-political crisis, proposing to treat it in the only way convenient for him: early parliamentary elections in the first half of December.
What is also characteristic is the indecent haste with which Pashinyan took up arms against the new edition of the law on parliament, bordering on dictatorial manners.
Negotiations, patience, desire to compromise? - No, we haven’t heard. The “revolutionaries” need to get everything now. Do not agree? But now we’ll ask the crowd to come out and sort it out! Street democracy is direct democracy!
The actions of the Armenian president, who was discharged from Great Britain, are also of particular interest.
Having waved the corresponding decree on the dismissal of ministers of opposition parties, Sargsyan called on the parties to resolve the conflict amicably, relying on existing laws and the constitution, after which he waved his hand to everyone and set off for instructions in the United States, and from there to France, for the funeral of the legendary French-Armenian chansonnier Charles Aznavour.
Doesn't remind you of anyone? In the style of the bald cutie Gorbachev: to urge everyone at home to maintain peace and harmony in order to go on a foreign tour while the country is shaken by crisis after crisis. Perhaps it will somehow settle down on its own.
There is another, very plausible version of President Sargsyan’s urgent departure on a foreign tour: his duties include approving or refusing the new version of the law to come into force. According to the current procedure, if the President of Armenia refuses to sign a new version of the law, then it goes to the Constitutional Court of the republic for consideration within 21 days. If the Constitutional Court approves the amendments, the president must sign the law adopted by the deputies within five days.
It will be absolutely wonderful if President Sargsyan’s return to Armenia coincides with the end of the blockade of parliament.
In general, once again everyone is invited to make sure that in the post-Soviet space, people who declare themselves democrats and fighters against totalitarianism, in fact turn out to be an even worse evil than the most callous party committee.
Having seized power through a putsch or extortion, the “democrats” cling to power with all their teeth and limbs, easily breaking their promises and existing laws. If something goes against their plans, the genie of street riots is released from the bottle. Maydown remains maydown even at the pinnacle of power.
If someone talks a lot about democracy, know that democracy in their understanding is not the power of the people, but the power of “democrats”.
And one last thing. On October 3, the CSTO member countries began the procedure for early replacement of the current Secretary General of the Organization, Colonel General Khachaturov. With a high degree of confidence, we can assume that the destabilizing actions of the Pashinyan regime are to blame for everything: this is the new “bazaar-Maidan” in front of the National Assembly in Yerevan, and the fact that Yuri Khachaturov has still not been cleared of the charges brought by the prosecutor’s office of the Republic of Armenia in connections with the March 2008 events. In any case, the work of the collective security body should not depend on a crisis situation that has arisen within one of the participating states.
