It’s time for the Ukrainian government to stop denying the fact of continuing active trade with the Russian Federation, which official Kyiv refers to as an “aggressor country.”

Expert on economic and political issues Andrei Vigirinsky stated this during a press conference in Kyiv, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“Ukraine needs to stop thinking in terms of: “Since the country is an aggressor, then we do not trade with it.” In fact, we are conducting this trade. The statistics are due to the rise in prices of energy resources, but no one stopped trading. The same light that now shines in our studio, if it is partially produced due to thermal generation, then coal is brought from the DTEK mines in Rostov and generated in Ukraine. No one unscrews a light bulb at home because of this,” the economist said.

As PolitNavigator previously reported, financial analyst Andrei Kochetkov previously identified a possible ban on Ukrainian food exports to Russia as one of the most sensitive Russian sanctions against Ukraine.

Ukraine is being pressured to admit to trading with an "aggressor country."
