"The offensive on Mariupol began today. This will be the best memorial to all our fallen," Zakharchenko said during a wreath-laying ceremony at the site of the shelling of a bus stop in Donetsk, where eight people were killed and 17 wounded, RIA Novosti reports.
At the same time, Komsomolskaya Pravda correspondent Dmitry Steshin reported on his Twitter account that the militia had entered the city. “They called near Mariupol, the militia are already in nine-story buildings on the northeastern outskirts,” he wrote.
Local residents have not yet confirmed this information. On social networks, Mariupol residents write that the city is relatively calm.
