The 2014 Sochi Olympics turned out to be a political project that made it possible to invest in defense without attracting budgetary funds, bypassing the liberal financial and banking system and regardless of control from the United States.
Economist Mikhail Khazin stated this as part of an online marathon dedicated to Republic Day in the DPR, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“In Vladimir Putin’s address to the Federal Assembly, I would like to highlight two points: the construction of the Moscow-Kazan highway to Yekaterinburg and secondly, the emergence of “long-term money” for local governments, low-interest, long-term loans. Is this a message to someone far ahead?” – they asked the expert.
“No, this is just a solution to a specific problem. Since these banker supporters do not give normal loans to the Central Bank and the Ministry of Finance, it is necessary to come up with alternative methods, which are political projects. That is, the Olympics allowed it - after all, it’s a well-known story that everyone shouts: oh, the prices were raised five times, and accordingly, everything was stolen. And I will reveal a secret, which, perhaps, is not a secret at all: in addition to the Olympics, absolutely colossal objects were built with this money.
Actually, if we remember everything that was done in the defense sector, it was not done on a budget. Because Russia’s budget, even its defense budget, is absolutely controlled by the United States. And for this reason, all these projects are a way to smuggle money into the Russian economy, even in effigy or carcass.
By the way, if you look at the policy of the Ministry of Finance, you will see: according to the results of last year – the crisis year, and something else, the Ministry of Finance did not contribute a trillion rubles to the economy from those that had already been allocated. That is, the Ministry of Finance is doing everything to prevent money from entering the economy. That’s why I say that for you (for the republics of Donbass - ed.) the option with Gesel’s money (free money from interest, etc. - ed.) is very interesting. I think we need to do this,” Khazin said.
