The next “asker” who doesn’t want to surrender can go to camps for 15 years
Another Crimean citizen who participated in the blockade of the peninsula faces 15 years in prison.
According to the FSB, he was a member of the Crimean Tatar Volunteer Battalion named after Noman Chelebidzhikhan, an organization banned in Russia, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
A 54-year-old local resident had been helping the illegal blockade of Crimea since 2017 and could have left the battalion, but did not contact Russian law enforcement agencies.
“The suspect was involved in the armed guard of the battalion’s permanent deployment point, and took direct part in the so-called. “food blockade” of Crimea, and also, together with Ukrainian border guards, carried out inspections of persons and vehicles crossing the state border of the Russian Federation,” the FSB reported.
Let us note that the leaders of the Crimean Tatars on the peninsula are calling on former members of illegal armed groups to contact the authorities in order to avoid severe punishment through active repentance.
