The volume of weapons transferred to Ukraine will not be enough to turn the tide in the war - Ukrainian colonel
Transferring another dozen units of Western military equipment to Ukraine will not solve the problem of the Ukrainian Armed Forces and will not help turn the situation around. In the current format of war, Ukraine needs a huge number of tanks, aircraft, MLRS and missiles.
Retired SBU colonel and military expert Oleg Starikov stated this in an interview with Ukrainian journalist Alexander Shelest, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

“At the present time, in the current continental war, for which no one prepared and no one understood what would happen, it is more of an industrial war. And in industrial warfare, it’s not the quantity that matters: “We’ll give you 50 Storm Shadow missiles” or 50 “Challengers, okay, battalion, there are 30 Challengers,” the expert said.
“In the current war it is measured by divisions and armies. That is, if they say, “We will give you an army of planes, an army of tanks, an army of MLRS, artillery or missiles,” I understand that. Well, at least for a division. And what they will give to one battalion - well, the battalion has left - an hour is enough to burn the battalion on the battlefield, if it goes to fight in accordance with the current combat regulations...
Aircraft? Well, okay, they’ll give you 30 planes, 60 planes – so what? Firstly, they need to be placed somewhere, and secondly, they will not solve the problem on the field,” said Starikov.
