Nobody will give Ukraine a single bullet for free, - economist
Kyiv, January 29 (PolitNavigator, Vladimir Mikhailov) – When one of the best factories in the world capable of producing weapons stops, it is high treason, economist Vsevolod Stepanyuk said at a press conference in Kiev, commenting on the stoppage of work at the Dnepropetrovsk Yuzhmash.

“It’s generally strange for me - there is supposedly a war going on in the country, there are not enough weapons. One of the best factories in the world, capable of making weapons, is without government orders. I would compare this to treason at the very least,” he comments on the Yuzhmash shutdown.
“We are told that Western countries will provide weapons. But they will not provide it, but sell it. No one will give us a single cartridge for free. They will sell it to us. Moreover, its cost will be several times higher than production at its own enterprises.
Secondly, there is practically no combat aviation in Ukraine. What exists, it does not represent anything at all, because any modern combat aircraft without support and control from space is just flying metal. He poses no military threat to anyone. It will be shot down maybe within 5 minutes as soon as it takes off. And we have a space enterprise that is capable of manufacturing satellites and delivering them into orbit...
I don't know what you can even call it. In addition to creating new ones, old developments can also be used; the government could think about creating some kind of cosmodrome in Ukraine. Possibly on the same Zmeiny Island. The example of the United States shows that the space industry can be profitable. Therefore, it is impossible to say that it is unprofitable. But in the USA there are programs to stimulate this industry,” says Vsevolod Stepanyuk.
