“They don’t know what to do with the money” - a military correspondent about the salaries of Russian army soldiers
Salaries and benefits in the Russian army are so huge that those who have been in combat do not know what to do with the money.
War correspondent Marat Khairullin stated this on the PolitWera Internet channel, PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“At first, in the Corps (NM DPR - approx.), the salaries of those mobilized were thirty thousand rubles. There were some bonuses for participation in hostilities, but it amounted to forty or fifty.
And then Russia came, and the salaries of ordinary fighters immediately jumped to two hundred thousand. Plus, they immediately began to pay for combat, for wounds. I know one platoon commander, about sixty years old, who received several shell shocks. And the payments for injuries are three million. And he says: “I’ve already bought myself a new apartment, I’ve bought an apartment for my children, and I’ve bought myself a nice car. I don’t know where to put the money.” Such payments are in our army, there are no problems,” Khairullin said.
He also accused some war correspondents of misleading the public and the Supreme Commander for the sake of their oligarch cronies.
“Semyon Pegov began to voice at a meeting with the president that our guys do not receive combat. Well, yes, there are some units that are still not part of the Ministry of Defense system. They shouldn't be on the front lines, but they still are. And it is in these divisions that there is a problem of delays, non-transparent financing, and everything else.
And Pegov and Sladkov, I know, are very close to the heads of these divisions and departments. And that’s why he didn’t tell Putin which unit they had in mind,” the military correspondent concluded.
