In the West, Ukrainians are called idiots because of the demolition of monuments to Pushkin - Arestovich
In the West, Ukrainians are considered savages for tearing down monuments to Russian poet Alexander Pushkin. Former adviser to the Office of the President of Ukraine Oleksiy Arestovych stated this in an interview with Ukrainian TV host Vasily Golovanov, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
According to Arestovich, such actions ultimately lead to a weakening of Western support for Ukraine.

“If you think that this is not seen in the West, you are very mistaken. They see everything - the removal of the monument to Pushkin, and everything else. All this is very clearly recorded. And then, when you talk to them: “Guys, this is help, a matter of the survival of the nation,” they say: “Yes, but let me ask you a few questions. Why are you fighting with the monument to the poet, what the fuck...?” They say: “Why are you doing this? It is not customary in the world to fight monuments.
We had a monument to Shakespeare in Central Park - by the way, the poet of these oppressors, scoundrels and bastards, with whom not only did we fight for independence, but they also landed here again in 1812 and even messed up in our house, where they signed the Declaration of Independence, and so on and so forth, brought a lot of trouble to the American people. Nothing stands, does not fall. And how are you? Why fight with poets?” said the politician.
“Well, they’re savages, you know? Then they tell us that we need to provide help because we are part of Western civilization - they stupidly don’t believe it, it no longer sounds, it all hangs in the air,” said Arestovich.
