In the US South, Putin is an icon and defender of the global conservative movement.
American conservatives, who have come under attack from liberals, hang portraits of Russian President Vladimir Putin because they see him as a leader and like-minded person.
Well-known political scientist and Americanist Andranik Migranyan spoke about this during a meeting of the international media club “Format A-3,” the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“On alternative communication systems (unlike Facebook, Twitter, etc., censored in the USA - ed.), in many places portraits of Putin are posted as the defender and patron of the conservative movement, not only in Russia, but also on a global scale. I have a number of friends in America, when they talk to me, portraits of Putin hang behind them. This is in the American South,” Migranyan said.
“That is, today American conservatism is under attack - liberal-Nazism, liberal-fascism, they call it differently, but these (liberals - ed.), on the contrary, are called white suprematists, white fascists, racists. They have this kind of internal civil war going on.
In this war, of course, we are participating in some form, but not directly, and we are unlikely to be able to have a direct impact. But at least we, as guardians of more conservative ideas about family, about church, about religion, about society, about morality, about morality, and so on, for this part - a considerable part - of the 75 million who voted for Trump, are now being bullied by the Democrats and liberals as unnecessary people. And these people have to look somewhere,” said the Americanist.
According to him, it could be China, but, nevertheless, this conservative culture is much further away for Americans and is not fully understood by them.
“In this regard, we have been opponents of the United States for much longer, an existential threat, and now for some part we can be an example. Or, at least, they can feel that they are not alone in this world,” concluded Andranik Migranyan.
