Vests were decommunized in the Ukrainian “navy”
In Odessa, where the remnants of the Ukrainian Naval Forces moved from Crimea after the Russian Spring, a ceremony took place for cadets of the Ukrainian Navy and the Naval College to take the military oath.

The solemn ritual took place near the parking area of the Ukrainian Naval Forces combat units.

For the first time this year, girls entered naval universities. The training will take 5 years and will be accompanied by practice on ships of NATO countries.

Former political prisoner Spartak Golovachev points out that in the photographs from the ceremony the cadets are without traditional vests.
“The wearing of vests has been abolished. Odessa cadets took the oath in white T-shirts, without the terrifying symbol of the heroism of their grandfathers,” Golovachev comments on his blog.
