Monuments to the victims of May 2 will appear in Ukraine
The victims of the Odessa tragedy of May 2, who died at the hands of Ukrainian nationalists, deserve to have streets named after them in cities and towns across the country, as well as monuments erected.
Former Verkhovna Rada deputy Anna German stated this on the NewsOne television channel, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“The May holidays are approaching. If once these were associations with spring, with joy, with a good weekend, then over the past four years these holidays have been associated with the tragedy in Odessa, such as May 2, where about 50 people died. They were burned alive just because they thought otherwise. And this is a tragedy.
No one erects monuments to them, no one calls them by their names, these fifty Odessa, heavenly ones. Nobody names the streets after them, but the monument to these people, who were burned alive, is in the heart of every resident of Odessa, in the hearts of many citizens of Ukraine and those who live outside its borders. And those monuments that are in the heart cannot be toppled, destroyed or decommunized. These monuments can have their say, and the time will come - they will do it,” said German
