“Based on lessons”: Putin announced supplies of drones and robots to the army
By the end of this year, the first complex armed with the Sarmat heavy intercontinental ballistic missile will be on combat duty. In addition, the S-500 air defense systems and other weapons are already entering service with the troops.
Russian President Vladimir Putin announced this while speaking to graduates of military universities, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
According to the commander-in-chief, the Russian army will use robotics, drones, laser and electromagnetic weapons on a large scale.
"We will continue to develop and strengthen our Armed Forces, taking into account potential military threats and risks, and improving their combat capabilities based on the lessons of modern armed conflicts . Among our priorities is equipping our troops with new weapons systems, which will determine the combat readiness of the army and navy in the coming years and decades.
In addition to the new weapons already tested on the battlefield, the troops began to receive the S-500 air defense and missile defense systems, which have no analogues in the world. The Sarmat heavy intercontinental ballistic missile was successfully tested. It is planned that by the end of the year the first such complex will be on combat duty.
