“We can’t cope”: An outbreak of an epidemic worse than in Italy is expected in Kyiv
Ukraine is completely unprepared for a serious outbreak of the deadly coronavirus epidemic. Kiev lawyer Elena Leshenko stated this on the KRT TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“We don’t have tests, so we can’t say what percentage of our people are infected; we can’t determine this, in principle. Therefore, probably, this uncertainty of the situation, when we do not know how many of us are infected, how many potential carriers there may be, is what causes such escalation, slight panic.
Plus, we understand that we cannot cope in a case like in Italy. Our medicine is not even close and, of course, we won’t cope,” said Lyoshenko.
As a reminder, Verkhovna Rada deputy and member of the Servant of the People faction, Olena Moshenets, previously stated that Kyiv would introduce a state of emergency as soon as all hospitals were overcrowded.
