According to her, the IMF “must treat everyone equally.”

“Greece is in a state of acute crisis, it is necessary to immediately find ways to solve it,” said Christine Lagarde, emphasizing that the fund intends to “fully participate” in this process.

She recalled that “the IMF is involved in resolving the economic crisis in Greece solely at the request of this country.”

Earlier on Wednesday, Athens sent a formal request to the Eurogroup for a third assistance program under the European Stability Mechanism (ESM). The request will be considered by a special working group in the near future. At the same time, the meeting of eurozone finance ministers regarding Greece's proposals was cancelled.
