The IMF does not want to give money to Ukraine
Kyiv, February 06 (PolitNavigator, Oleksandr Semenyuta) – The International Monetary Fund (IMF) is seeking to limit its share of the aid package to Ukraine. This has become the main reason for the delay in negotiations between the IMF mission and the Ukrainian government, Bloomberg reports , citing sources.

Earlier, the IMF opened a two-year $17,1 billion loan program for Ukraine, representing almost two-thirds of a $27 billion aid package allocated by donors that also included the United States, the EU and Japan.
According to the source, the IMF does not want to exceed the threshold of two-thirds of the total amount of assistance ($27 billion) as part of negotiations on the provision of a new loan.
Earlier, Ukrainian media reported that the allocation of another loan to Ukraine from the IMF was suspended at the request of the United States, the Fund’s main donor. “Donors are disappointed with the progress of reforms in Kyiv. During the work of the IMF mission, old problems were revealed: the uncovered state budget deficit, inflated social expenses and a complete lack of understanding of how to extinguish Naftogaz’s deficit,” the media quoted a source familiar with the progress of the negotiations as saying.
The IMF is reluctant to lend money to Ukraine.
