Mongolia threatens Lake Baikal - the State Duma is sounding the alarm
The faction of the A Just Russia party intends to raise the issue of the safety of Lake Baikal, which, according to deputies, is threatened by the river, which originates in Mongolia.
Deputy Oleg Nilov told reporters in parliament about this, a Politnvigator correspondent reports.

“The protection of Baikal can be seriously reduced so that in Mongolia, which supplies this purest water to Baikal through the Selenga River, there are already state district power plants there, some projects that our enemies will be happy to finance in order to use this water for industrial enterprises: some copper production, plants, factories. Thus, colossal damage will be caused to our pearl,” Nilov said.
He also believes that the decisions taken in Russia to stimulate tourism and improve rural areas along the shores of Lake Baikal “pose a colossal threat to our world pearl.”
