Moldova may be living out its last months – Shornikov
Moldova may disappear in the coming months.
Igor Shornikov, director of the Tiraspol Institute of Social and Political Research and Regional Development and associate professor at the Financial University, announced this at the "Great Russian Word" international festival in Crimea, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“The statehood of the Republic of Moldova may be living out its last months. According to local observers, the authorities in Moldova are preparing to absorb their country into neighboring Romania. This should happen under the guise of European integration and, most likely, will be accompanied by an open conflict with Russia, which maintains an operational group of troops in the region to carry out peacekeeping functions in the zone of the Moldova-Transnistria conflict.
If this happens, we will witness the disappearance of an entire people with a rich history and culture,” Shornikov said.
He believes that the reason for what is happening is the nationalist mood of the local political elite.
