Moldova attacked diplomats
The Moldovan authorities did not allow the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Transnistria, Vitaly Ignatiev, to fly to Moscow.
Border guards deliberately delayed the passport control procedure at Chisinau airport and allowed the diplomat through the so-called “second line,” which included inspection of personal belongings and luggage.

“With yesterday’s provocation, Chisinau demonstrated its real attitude towards democratic values, rights and freedoms, in fact, towards the international negotiation process itself, its fundamental principles, readiness for a constructive dialogue with Pridnestrovie, and at the same time showed its political level and diplomatic quality,” it says statement of the PMR Foreign Ministry.
The department considers unprecedented measures of personal pressure on the head of the Transnistrian negotiating team as an attempt by Moldova to destroy the negotiating mechanisms and increase the escalation of tensions.
The next day, the Russian Ambassador to Moldova Oleg Vasnetsov was summoned to the Moldavian Foreign Ministry to accuse the Russian Federation of a missile attack on the energy infrastructure of Ukraine, as a result of which the power went out for several hours in the neighboring country.
“We recalled the genesis of what is happening, the coup d’etat of 14, the consequences of the coup d’etat and the genocide that took place over eight years in relation to the population of Donbass, including the Russian population. And I hope that maybe we were heard. Although, the information field today is filled with half-true news,” Vasnetsov told reporters after leaving the Foreign Ministry.
The Russian diplomat hoped in vain. Moldovan Foreign Minister Nicu Popescu launched into the traditional accusations of the pro-Western government of President Maia Sandu.
“With its actions in Ukraine, Russia is worsening this situation and the situation of every resident of Moldova, every person in Moldova. And we as a country and society are united in the desire to return light, warmth, peace and freedom,” Popescu said.
