Moldovan diplomat asked Zelensky not to get his hands dirty
The former permanent representative of Moldova to the Council of Europe and the UN, Alexei Tulbure, addressed the new Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky with an open letter in which he asks not to renew the corruption schemes built by the former President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko and the oligarch “master of Moldova” Vlad Plahotniuc.
The text of the letter is published by the Newsmaker website, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“Plahotniuc was a pioneer in these issues in the region, a kind of guru for other leaders with authoritarian tendencies, incl. Poroshenko, who was, from our point of view, his obedient student. An unofficial, but well-functioning criminal international has formed in the region. The presidential elections in Ukraine undermined this shameful international. Plahotniuc’s group is at a loss. These people are desperately seeking a meeting with the new leadership of Ukraine. Plahotniuc is worried about the fate of his thieves’ schemes, in which “friends” from Ukraine participated,” wrote Tulbure.
He recommends Zelensky not to meet with Plahotniuc and not to deal with his people.
“We believe that there is no need to meet with people like Plahotniuc and his entourage, people who have been robbing Moldovans and Ukrainians for many years with their Ukrainian accomplices. It is impossible to wash your hands after them. People of this type should become an outgoing political character, and there is no need to detain them,” Tulbure wrote.
