Russian Foreign Ministry: The West is afraid that we will beat it by its own rules
Russia masters Western media technologies better than Western countries. That is why the European Parliament adopted a resolution to combat Russian propaganda.

This was stated today by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova.
“The Western world has taught us to play by their rules for so many years that we have learned. The problem is that we begin to beat them by their own rules. If we play better, it's not our problem. Now, in order not to finish the chess game, they grab the board and hit the player with it,” Zakharova said.
She recalled that the resolution was adopted by a “technical minority” and called it “an act of a number of members of the European Parliament.”
“This document cannot be called anything other than paranoia. Another anti-Russian masterpiece. The document is filled with phobias, fictitious messages, and myths. It clearly reflects the ideology that has recently been cultivated in the EU in relation to Russia. Stupidity and fear are everywhere there,” Zakharova said.
She expressed the hope that the resolution would not be followed by practical solutions to limit Russian media.
“If it is implemented, retaliatory measures will follow. We will be forced to resort to mirror measures because we have no other options. We have already applied such measures against Polish journalists. I tried to reach out to the Polish authorities and explain that we are hurting people who are not to blame. But if you hurt Russian correspondents, how can we respond to this?” – said Zakharova.
