The Russian Foreign Ministry criticized the OSCE for the scandalous conference in Kyiv
The OSCE, which held a conference on freedom of speech in Kyiv, wanted to turn it into a “Russophobic” gathering. Official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova told reporters about this today.
“We did not see the OSCE’s desire to make this conference truly open to everyone, and the conversation constructive. The Russian side was interested in this. We were well aware that this would turn into another Russophobic gathering that would inflame passions within Ukraine. In order to bring some constructive dialogue to this event, it was decided to send Russian representatives there,” Zakharova said.
However, as previously reported, journalists from the Rossiya-24 and RT television channels sent to Kyiv were expelled from the country by Ukrainian authorities. The Russian Foreign Ministry believes that the OSCE also bears responsibility, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“The absurdity now dominates in Ukraine. To our great regret, the OSCE is involved in this. We will be sending appropriate letters to the OSCE with a full statement of the behavior we saw that was completely inconsistent with OSCE standards on the part of the organizers who failed to ensure the presence of all participants. The worst thing is that OSCE representatives cannot do anything about it, they show their absolute powerlessness, toothlessness, dysfunction,” Zakharova said.
