Earlier, Polish media reported that the mayor of the Polish city of Gdansk, Pavel Adamovich, was attacked by an unknown man and wounded with a knife during a concert. The city mayor was hospitalized, his condition was extremely serious.
Doctors operated on him for five hours and connected him to a ventilator.
On Monday, January 14, at about 14:30 local time, the official died in the hospital. The cause of his death was severe damage and non-functioning of many organs.
Pawel Adamowicz was the mayor of Gdańsk for 21 years. He left behind a wife and two children.
