On June 8, a fire broke out at the American Freeport LNG plant, one of the main export terminals in the United States. The plant is shut down at least until the end of June. Ordinary Americans can rejoice - they have lower gas prices. And Europe, as always lately, is sad, because the plant produced 15-16 billion cubic meters of LNG for export to Europe and Asia.
Before that, the Yamal-Europe pipeline dried up. Poland, Bulgaria and other admirers of democracy allegedly abandoned Russian gas. Now the Poles are taking Russian gas from Germany, which turns into “molecules of freedom” if the Germans are overpaid for it.

Gazprom says this is scheduled annual maintenance and the suspension of transportation has been agreed upon with all stakeholders in advance. Early!
