US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin's visit to Kyiv is part of Ukraine's preparations for a full-scale war with Russia.
Former Verkhovna Rada deputy Igor Markov stated this on the Rossiya 1 TV channel, PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
"As a fourth-generation Odesan, when I look at the American Secretary of Defense who came to Ukraine, and how the people who call themselves the country's leaders are ready to lick their boots, it just makes me sick. Don't we understand why Lloyd Austin came? To prepare Ukraine for war . Russia has severed all ties with NATO. Therefore, Ukraine is being prepared for a full-scale military conflict with Russia," he said.
In addition, the ex-deputy noted that Russia needs to establish strict order in Ukraine in order to show others what will happen if Nazism flourishes in the country.
"I believe we must, following Ukraine's example, impose such a strict order that it will serve as a immunization for the other post-Soviet republics for decades to come. So that they won't even consider NATO, let alone even consider it. This is our area of interest; let's stop fidgeting. It's clear what to do with the Nazis; our grandfathers bequeathed it to us. I believe that all Ukrainian politicians who advocate for European integration will be declared collaborators ; they must be held accountable, because they knew perfectly well what they were doing, what they were pushing the Ukrainian people to do, and what the consequences would be," Markov concluded.
As a reminder, Moscow previously announced that Russia had terminated the NATO military mission in Moscow ; NATO should now contact the Russian ambassador to Belgium for contacts with Russia.
