Mariupol Metallurgical Plant is secretly being converted into a military base
The Armed Forces of Ukraine have deployed weapons and ammunition on the territory of civil and industrial infrastructure facilities in Mariupol.
Official representative of the operational command of the DPR Eduard Basurin spoke about this today during a briefing, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“According to information provided by DPR intelligence, in the city of Mariupol on the territory of the Ilyich Metallurgical Plant in warehouses and hangars, Ukrainian punitive forces placed: 20 units of T-80 tanks, 50 armored personnel carriers, 20 mortars, 14 units of 122-mm self-propelled artillery 2S1 “Gvozdika” ", 8 - 122 mm D-30 artillery mounts," said Eduard Basurin.
Particularly surprising, according to Basurin, is the fact that this information is not reflected in any way in the reports of the OSCE mission.
“I would like to note that in the reports of the OSCE Mission there is not a word about the presence of this equipment on the territory of the plant, despite the fact that the headquarters of the Special Monitoring Mission is located in the city of Mariupol. These circumstances raise a number of questions. Are OSCE observers not allowed into the plant territory, or are the observers deliberately hiding this fact? If observers are not allowed in, then why is this not reflected in the daily reports?” - he said.
According to Basurin, in addition to weapons, ammunition is placed on the territory of the plant, which puts the civilian population of Mariupol in direct danger.
“In addition, more than 2 thousand tons of ammunition for rocket and cannon artillery were moved to the territory of the enterprise, which were placed in gross violation of their storage requirements. In the event of an emergency, the city of Mariupol faces disaster. Apparently, the OOS command has once again decided to carry out another sabotage in the occupied territory and place the responsibility on us,” Eduard Basurin noted in conclusion.
