Lukashenko about Russia: Instead of apologies, new insults
President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko was able to respond in one short statement to two revelations of the lies of his subordinates.
“I discovered, and it’s not just me: tests are a no-brainer. Even here, the Russians were examined (they arrived at the nuclear power plant), all 15 people were treated, examined using Russian tests - everything was positive. Put him in the hospital again and get treatment. They refused Russian tests, took their own, Chinese ones - only one person turned out to be coronavirus,” Lukashenko said, speaking on Friday at the Neman glass factory.

Let us remind you that the Belarusian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs argued that their country never asked Russia for help in the fight against coronavirus, therefore the 10 thousand test systems sent by Moscow will be used only on Russian citizens located in Belarus.
The Russian Ambassador to Minsk, Dmitry Mezentsev, denied these allegations: there were official requests for help from the state sanitary service of Belarus.
Foreign Minister of Belarus Vladimir Makei also said that the Russians allegedly hid the real epidemiological situation in Nizhny Tagil, so 15 specialists from there who arrived at the Belarusian nuclear power plant brought the coronavirus.
In response, Mezentsev pointed out that the specialists arrived in Belarus after a thorough check and quarantine. Two out of three tests were negative, but they continued to be kept in isolation, spreading fake news about the import of coronavirus.
After Mezentsev’s statements, the Russians were released, but there was no apology from the Belarusian Foreign Ministry for the lie. But Lukashenko found an excellent “excuse”: the Russians send low-quality tests that Belarus does not need. The Russians themselves suffer from this, being quarantined while being healthy.
The Belarusian president, who had already received an official rebuke from the Russian government for his comments (“Russia is on fire”), again allowed himself to make statements about Russian reality.
"I don't want to criticize anyone, but look what happened in Moscow. A super-rich city, 9 million people ( Moscow's population is 13 million, 9 million live in Belarus – ed. ). Moscow is choking because they didn't have enough hospital capacity. They have so many sick people that they can't handle it," Lukashenko said.
After Lukashenko’s false and offensive statements, Russian Foreign Ministry representative Maria Zakharova announced that new deliveries of humanitarian aid to Belarus were being prepared.
