According to him, the city’s problems did not end with the appointment of former Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of Russia Dmitry Ovsyannikov to the position of acting governor.

“I don’t think the problems are over in Sevastopol. I assume that they will appear in a slightly different quality, only now they will be received by those who are rejoicing in Sevastopol today. Time will pass very quickly and we will see their reaction towards the new appointee.

The fact that he represents the Ministry of Industrial Policy is very good for Crimea, because the image of the peninsula as a tourist and recreational region is constantly being imposed on us. It is certainly present, but all Crimean diversity, and economic diversity, first of all, cannot be reduced to it.

We must not forget that for many years the leader of our industry was the chemical industry. The transformation of Crimea into a large trading platform and a beach is the worst thing that can happen,” Kiselev said.

At the same time, he emphasized that Ovsyannikov’s experience as a representative of the Ministry of Industry and Trade could help the whole of Crimea.

“I want to emphasize that over the past two years we have not heard any serious conversation about the development strategy of Crimea. Nothing other than “destroy everything in a hundred-meter zone” and the fifth or tenth. Where is the conversation about new technologies, about the sectoral structure of production, about agriculture and other industries? He's gone! Now, we will look at Mr. Ovsyannikov, I think with his arrival there will be, at least in Sevastopol, an opportunity for such a conversation. I would like such a conversation to begin in the republic,” Kiselev added.
