Moscow – Kyiv, February 10 (PolitNavigator, Mikhail Stamm) – In Washington, lobbyists were still hoping to convince the head of the German government of the need to supply weapons to Ukraine. But Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov reminded the US Secretary of State about the fate of the American armored vehicles that Ukraine sold to Syria, reports Rossiyskaya Gazeta.

The issue of arms supplies to Kyiv was discussed in Munich by US Secretary of State John Kerry and Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov. As RG learned, the head of the Russian Foreign Ministry reminded his interlocutor about the fate of the armored vehicles that were sent to the Ukrainian authorities from Canada. These vehicles were intended for the movement of commanders in the battle zone. When the Canadians asked how their technology performed, it turned out that the machines simply disappeared. And no one knows where they got lost. Given Ukraine’s desire to earn extra currency by selling weapons, there is a high probability - and unbiased politicians in Washington are aware of this - that American weapons will over time end up in the hands of far-right groups and in the future could be sold to Islamic State terrorists.

Another problem that American generals are reluctant to admit is the unpreparedness of the Ukrainian army to use modern weapons, which will require sending a significant number of instructors to the battle zone. And in fact, Russia will regard it as direct US intervention in the conflict in Donbass, the newspaper recalls.
