Kyiv must abandon meaningless formulations like “preserving the territorial integrity of Ukraine” – Kremlin political strategist
Moscow – Kyiv, November 21 (PolitNavigator, Mikhail Shtamm) – For the Donbas negotiations to be successful, Kyiv must abandon meaningless phrases like "preserving Ukraine's territorial integrity." Kremlin political strategist and director of the Center for Political Conjuncture Alexei Chesnakov told RBC.

Both sides of the conflict between Ukraine and the Novorossiysk republics cannot agree to the opponent’s terms without negative political consequences, at least in the territories under their control, says Chesnakov.
But the only alternative to the process of negotiations on the status of the LPR and DPR is war, so the parties will eventually have to discuss real options, and not palm each other off with “deceptions” to delay time, he notes.
“Negotiations must begin without preconditions. The parties must begin to take mutual steps towards each other, without insisting on ritual declarations of meaningless formulations such as “preserving the territorial integrity of Ukraine,” adds Chesnakov.
