Croatian Health Minister Vili Beros said his country intends to receive the Russian Sputnik V vaccine without authorization from the European Medicines Agency (EMA).
According to Berosh, he discussed this issue with the Russian ambassador to Croatia, the correspondent reports. "PolitNavigator".
The Croatian Minister of Health said that in order to start using the Russian Sputnik V vaccine, a positive opinion from the Croatian Agency for Medicines and Medical Devices (HALMED) is sufficient.
“I asked the Russian Ambassador to expedite the delivery of the requested documentation so that HALMED could make a decision,” Berosh said. – The vaccine can be delivered to Croatia without EMA (European Medicines Agency) approval, that is, with HALMED approval, as an export product...
Once the vaccine arrives from Russia, HALMED's assessment will take several days or weeks. Yes, the analysis will take some time, but we are talking about days and weeks, not months.”
In turn, Croatian MEP Romana Jerkovic said today that the system of procurement and distribution of vaccines through the EMA has failed. Therefore, Croatia must urgently purchase the Russian vaccine.
