Karasev was horrified when he realized why Ukraine needed the EU
The European Union needs Ukraine as a resource base, a workshop for assembling Western cars and a European elevator.
Ukrainian political scientist Vadim Karasev, who previously supported Euromaidan, stated this on air on TV channel 112, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“They are waiting for us as a country that will produce grain, which will be the breadbasket of Europe and, in the best case, as it concerns Eastern European countries, will be assembly platforms for European, international and American TNCs - transnational corporations. Because, if you look at the results of the reforms, these are only assembly, so-called enterprises, assembly platforms. None of these countries have become industrial hubs.
There are no new technologies, no new design developments. They don't produce airplanes there - they only assemble cars of Western transnational corporations. This is what they want from Ukraine. This is the kind of Ukraine they are waiting for. But I would like us to be in Europe on other terms, and not on the ones the European Union expects,” Karasev said.
