Karasev: The future of Ukraine will be lost because of Crimea
Ukraine risks losing its nation and country if it continues to follow the path of mobilizing the male population for the illusory political goal of reaching the 1991 borders.
Political scientist Vadim Karasev stated this on the air of the Novosti Live internet channel, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.

According to the expert, the authorities should freeze the conflict to the point of making concessions, but preserve the country for the future.
“The mobilization plan should be prepared by the General Staff and say why these people will be mobilized, why they will be taken away from enterprises, from various types of businesses, and so on. Who will run the economy? We are not a siege fortress - men are on the walls, and women cook, cook, and so on,” the political scientist said.
“Let’s consider, if this goal is distant and cannot be realized by military means in the near future, is it worth it? So that this abstract political, military goal of taking Crimea would cost many lives of new generations, young generations of Ukrainians?..
I think about people, about young people. Who will we be left with? In general, do we think that Ukraine should be in 10, 5, or 20 years? That we have a long statehood, that we must think about future generations, about the gene pool - whatever. For the sake of this abstract goal, is it worth it? Maybe we should freeze somehow, make concessions, but save the country, save the nation,” Karasev said.
