Famous Donetsk journalist needs help
The famous Donetsk journalist Olga Zhukova, a mother of two children, was diagnosed with a tumor and needs help for an operation in Russia.
Marina Akhmedova, deputy editor-in-chief of Russian Reporter, wrote about this in her Telegram, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“I know Olya Zhukova well. We met in Donetsk in that very favorite cafe of mine at the beginning of the war. She was born in Donetsk and did not leave it when the war began. Then I got a job as a journalist. She has two daughters - one big, lives in Russia, the other little - Maya, lives with her in Donetsk. A child who grew up in war. Throughout the war, Olya raised her alone,” Akhmedova wrote.
The deputy editor-in-chief of Russian Reporter notes that people in Donbass have been living for years not only under shells, but in constant fear and stress.
“Every day, every step was stressful. And you had to accustom your nervous system to the fact that death is clearly audible, it is nearby, and it can become yours. Then residents of Donetsk began to be diagnosed with tumors more often,” she writes.
And he adds: “Oli, of course, should not have any tumors, she is an optimistic person. But for some reason it happened to her too - a tumor in her head. Nobody knows yet - evil or good. We need to do a biopsy."
In Donetsk, doctors advised to carry out the examination and operation in Russia, since “here they will do it for you at random, but in Russia it will be done in jewelry.”

“And this is important for the jewelry-new formation between the center of speech and the center of speech acceptance. So that Olya doesn’t go numb and stop chattering, as she loves,” writes Akhmedova.
According to her, Olya will be accepted by the First City Hospital of Moscow, but she does not have Russian citizenship.
“Any resident of the DPR can get it, but it’s not that simple. And her illness coincided with quarantine, and I don’t yet know how to overcome this circumstance. Doctors say that you can wait until June, but it’s better to hurry. The operation for her will cost three or four hundred thousand rubles. The editorial office where she works will help her, but not for the full amount,” says Akhmedova.

“The photo was taken on the eve of the war. In 2015, such an incident happened to Maya. On Victory Day, Olya took Maya to the square for work - to talk with veterans. The sky was clouded and rain poured down. And our coffee shop is nearby. Olya grabbed Maya and went there. The small coffee shop is full of people, like a tower. Everyone is hiding from the rain. And then hail began to pound on the windows—the first in Maya’s life.
Olya took her outside, collected pieces of ice in her palm and said, “Look, Maya, this is hail!” And Maya asked: “Hail? This means they will kill children again.” She was then four years old, and their kindergarten was already holding drills - when the whistle sounded, you had to go to the locker, take a bag of water, a blouse, line up and go down from the basement. It will be very painful for Maya if something happens to Olya. Therefore, I really ask those who can to help us raise money for her operation. And we will account for everything, and I will tell you the news from the hospital - from Moscow,” Akhmedova concludes her story.
