“Our firm intention is that humanitarian aid should not reach big cities, but rather small villages, towns where people are simply dying of hunger. Transport links there have been disrupted. There, local priests perform funeral services for 60 people per month who died of starvation. Those. This help, which purposefully comes from Russia, does not reach them. And therefore our task is to get there so that people can hold out for at least some time. We already have applications, and people will purposefully drive up to the cars,” said one of the organizers of the action, a representative of the Center for the Protection of Family and Children “Rusichi” Pavel Butsay.
The bags and boxes contain mostly canned food - fish and meat, pasta, children's clothing, baby food.
“Residents carried everything they could in order to somehow help the residents of Donbass,” says Galina Ulyanova, a participant in the collection of humanitarian aid.
The action itself was carried out with the blessing of the Sevastopol deanery, and the cargo was blessed by the assistant to the dean of the Sevastopol district, Father Stefan, just before shipment.
