Foreign agent told why Abramovich rushed to Istanbul for grain negotiations
Russian oligarch Roman Abramovich attended the grain deal negotiations in Istanbul to resolve his personal problems.
This was stated in an interview with Alexander Plyushchev by his colleague Yulia Latynina, who fled Russia, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“In these negotiations, from the very beginning, Abramovich has been very successful in saving Abramovich’s skin. He is still not under sanctions. The Ukrainian government even stood up for him,” Latynina said.
She believes that sanctions against Russian oligarchs are not the primary task of the Western government.
“All the Russian oligarchs who made their fortunes before Putin (even if they use administrative resources), without Putin their fortunes would have been much greater. These people lost, not gained, from Putin. They can't do anything against him. The sanctions against them are due to the fact that the West needs to report that it has done something, since the West does not want to impose real sanctions, cut off oil and gas, and pays Putin a billion a day for the war,” the foreign agent expressed dissatisfaction.

The oligarch insists that the European Union transfer over a million dollars to his charitable foundation as compensation for damages. In Europe, director Kirill Serebrennikov, who fled Russia, is interceding for the billionaire.
