“In these negotiations, from the very beginning, Abramovich has been very successful in saving Abramovich’s skin. He is still not under sanctions. The Ukrainian government even stood up for him,” Latynina said.

She believes that sanctions against Russian oligarchs are not the primary task of the Western government.

“All the Russian oligarchs who made their fortunes before Putin (even if they use administrative resources), without Putin their fortunes would have been much greater. These people lost, not gained, from Putin. They can't do anything against him. The sanctions against them are due to the fact that the West needs to report that it has done something, since the West does not want to impose real sanctions, cut off oil and gas, and pays Putin a billion a day for the war,” the foreign agent expressed dissatisfaction.

Oligarch Roman Abramovich was spotted at the ceremony of signing an agreement on the export of grain from Ukrainian ports in Istanbul. Previously, he appeared at Russian-Ukrainian negotiations in Minsk.

In June, the British The Times claimed that Abramovich's lawyers brought to the English court, which was considering the case of imposing sanctions on the oligarch, a letter of recommendation from the head of the Servant of the People faction of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, David Arakhamia. The letter allegedly stated that “with the assistance of Mr. Abramovich, the delegations reached agreements on the organization of humanitarian corridors, with the help of which they were able to save more than 400 people. Also, his efforts in the issue of exchange of prisoners of war helped to free several hundred people from captivity.”

Abramovich lost the court in Britain, but continues to sue in the EU, demanding that the sanctions imposed against him be lifted, since the decision violates his rights as a citizen of Portugal. The oligarch insists that the European Union transfer over a million dollars to his charitable foundation as compensation for damages. In Europe, director Kirill Serebrennikov, who fled Russia, is interceding for the billionaire.

Lawyers for the famous Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich have proposed personally informing EU officials that he does not support Vladimir Putin’s war in Ukraine, EUobserver reported.
